(More customer reviews)I lugged this around in my backpack for 4 weeks during geology field camp in the desert as a backup to my camelbak.
It is constructed of plastic, holds 2 quarts of water, and doesn't spill easily. However, it isn't quite as strong as it looks, and ended up with a big dent on the aluminum-looking (actually plastic) ring. The fabric on the sides is a cheap felt, not the burlap one would expect. As a result, it frays just handling it, and the cooling effect when wet, while it does work, is not as good as real burlap.
I give it three stars because it worked and did not break when dropped. However, it needs an O-ring in the lid, and needs better fabric on the sides. Overall, what you would expect for a cheap plastic desert canteen from China.
