(More customer reviews)Just like the previous reviewer stated - "it is a canteen and is made out of plastic". This is the U.S. military standard issue plastic canteen with the only exception - the canteen cap is smooth; you do not recieve the military issue cap that has the adapter for usage with the military chemical protective masks. Colors of the canteens may be: Black, O.D. Green, or Tan. I have 2 from my military days and these canteens still come in handy for hiking, backpacking, camping, etc.
