I'm not a ultra but I do run and I've been looking for "the right water bottle." This one is pretty close to what I'm after. The mesh strap is moisture-wicking, but that only applies to the back of your hand. Your palm is smack against the plastic bottle and it get sweaty. Not a deal breaker. What I was most concerned about was whether the thing would stay strapped to my hand and it does. Works fine on either left or right hand. The nice thing about the strap is that you can use it to strap the bottle to your hand or you can carry the bottle loosely by it. You have options. The cap opens pretty easily and seals well. One thing I miss with this bottle is the straw, you do have to tip the bottle to drink. Again, not a deal breaker. The pouch is the right size. I put my driver's license and a Gu pack inside the zipper plus a Gu pack in the mesh pouch on the outside and still had room.

I got this with a gift card so I'm not sure how I would feel if I'd paid the full price for it. It seems a bit pricey but maybe I'm just cheap.
